What makes a house a home
When you are buying a home you wonder what has happened inside the four walls over the years. In the past few weeks we have been lucky enough to have shared memories with the past residents of three of the properties we have on the market.
Childhood memories were invoked when the granddaughter of the original owner visited 579 D’Arcy Road, Carina.
As she wandered through the home she was able to recall where they all slept, why there was a second toilet installed downstairs in the laundry, that her grandmother had shown dogs, hence the dog run, and most amazing of all that her grandmother had 14 children that were brought up in this 3 bedroom post-war home.
We could see the home through new eyes, hear the laughter and the sorrow, it’s what makes a house a home.
